Every shout involves key personnel, they form part of the operations team. They are all volunteers and respond to the pager.

Crew leap into the boat - to save lives; they are the ones you hear about. Then there's the rest...

Shore crew put the boat in the water - to save lives, no good having lifeboat crew with the boat on dry land. Don't forget the guys that takes the call and instruct the boat to launch, taking responsibility for the safety of the volunteers that put to sea - to save lives . Then there's the wonderful press officer that makes sure the press and public get to know what's going on .... ;-)

All are volunteers, most holding down full time jobs and with families.
