Local surfer’s bar, Reef Surf
bar, is planning a fun filled “Night at the Races” on Saturday 11th
October 2008. All profits from the event will go to Newquay RNLI lifeboat.
The event kicks off at 8 pm;
the first of eight races through out the evening.
What’s it all about? There are
eight races. You “bet” on a number, each number relates to a horse in a
sealed race. The pre-recorded sealed race is randomly picked (from the
eight) and away you go. Your prize for winning? Half of the bets are prize
money, the remainder will save lives.
This is the first time Reef
surf bar have held this event to raise money for Newquay RNLI and event
organiser, Lorna Cooper, hopes it will be first of many events to be held at
the Reef Surf bar, Berry road, Newquay.
The bar will be open till late
and you don’t have to “bet” to enjoy the atmosphere. Come along and chill.
By enjoying a good night out
and having a flutter you will be helping someone who gets into difficulties,
you will be helping to ensure there will be someone there when needed. You
will be ensuring that the RNLI maintains their fantastic volunteer lifeboat
service and expands their RNLI lifeguard service.
